Terry Jones
Originally from Bradford in West Yorkshire, Terry Jones graduated with Honours in English Literature at University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. He later completed a post-graduate teaching qualification (PGCE Cert. Ed) at Manchester University, taking the University Withers Memorial Essay prize. He coordinated and taught Access to Higher Education, A level literature programmes, and undergraduate degree courses in English Literature and English Language in Further Education. Married, with three grown-up daughters, he lives close to Carlisle on the Cumbrian borders. He now works as a freelance writer and private tutor.
His poems have appeared in most major UK poetry magazines, including Poetry Review, Agenda, Magma, The London Magazine, Iota, Envoi, The Dark Horse, Orbis, The Shop, and many others.

Bridport Prize
Terry was awarded 1st prize of £5000 by Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, in the 2011 Bridport International Writing Competition. The winning poem 'Endowments' was published in the Bridport Winners' Anthology and in The New Statesman.
His first short collection, Furious Resonance, is published Poetry Salzburg in their poetry pamphlet series www.poetrysalzburg.com
In December 2011, Terry took further poetry prizes:
1st prize in the Sentinel annual Poetry Competition for his poem, 'The Causation fo the Virgin Mary in a Tipperary Barn'
2nd prize in the Cannon Poets Sonnet or Not Competition for his sonnet, 'Apparitions'.
In 2012, other poems were highly commended in The Mirehouse Competition, and the Northern Arts Water Poetry competition, with another poem taking 2nd prize in the Sentinel Quarterly poetry competition.
